GUWAHATI: The Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission on Thursday served notice to five former members of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). The Assam Government had formed a one-man judicial inquiry commission headed by Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma, retired Judge of Gauhati High Court, to inquire into the allegations of anomalies and malpractices in the conduct of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), 2014 examination of the APSC.

The five former APSC members who have been served notices by the Commission are Anup Kumar Roy, Dhruba Hazarika, Nasifa Ahmed, Ranjit Borthakur and Samedur Rahman. Pertinently, these five were members of the APSC when the CEE, 2014 was conducted. The Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission sought a collective response from them in the cash-for-job scam as they were APSC members at that time. They have been given 15 days to reply to the notice of the Commission.

During the probe, the Commission found the signatures of former APSC chairman Rakesh Paul and these five members in the main result sheet. Another member, Basanta Doley has already been served notice by the Commission.
