GUWAHATI: The Capacity Building Centre (CBC), Cotton University, in collaboration with Civil Services Achievers' Point (CSAP), Guwahati launched a coaching programme for civil service aspirants on Wednesday.

Dr Sangeeta Barthakur, Director, CBC, in her welcome address underlined that 80 students from across different educational institutions, including Cotton University had registered for the programme. She said that students from Assam were no way less than students from other parts of the country and that only rigorous coaching and need-based orientation could lead students towards success in competitive exams.

Prof. Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, Vice Chancellor (VC), Cotton University said, "It is important for aspirants to be selective while collecting information. They need to stay away from petty negative news and rather follow debates and talk shows on issues of greater relevance. They should regularly read newspapers for competitive exams."
