BALI: The beautiful tropical country of Indonesia hosted the two-day G20 Summit in Bali. It saw the leaders of several heads of state from across the globe. The two-day event ended with the Indian Prime Minister taking charge as the leader of the association of countries.

This G20 meeting had several key topics up for discussion between the world leaders. One of the key topics was the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine that managed to cause ripples across the world. Another important point of this event was that the first Indian-origin Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak took part in his first international event after he took over the office.

The two-day meeting ended on Wednesday, November 16, with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking the position as the next president. He took the leadership formally from the current president Joko Widodo, the President of Indonesia.

The leaders of some of the largest economies of the world participated in this event. The list included US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi among several others.

The Indian PM met with several leaders on the sidelines of the summit to discuss bilateral issues and prospects. His meeting with Rishi Sunak came to the forefront as the UK announced the allocation of 3000 visas annually to Indian citizens allowing them to stay and work for up to two years.

The ongoing war in Europe was a minor hiccup in the event. As Russian missiles caused two deaths in Poland, the members of the NATO nations, including US president Joe Biden took part in an emergency meeting. The incident took place on Tuesday while the G20 Summit was on, leading to fears of an escalation in the ongoing war scenario.
