About O/o the Dist. A. H. & Vety. Office, Dibrugarh: Dibrugarh is an administrative district in the state of Assam in India. It is bounded by the Dhemaji district on the north, Tinsukia district on the east, Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on the south-east and Sibsagar district on the north and south-west. The area stretches from the north bank of the Brahmaputra, which flows for a length of 95 km through the northern margin of the district, to the Patkai foothills on the south.
The district headquarters are located at Dibrugarh city. The district occupies an area of 3381 km². Deputy Commissioner is the Administrative Head of the District. The Deputy Commissioner is entrusted with overall responsibility for law and order, implementation of government schemes and is also authorised to hear revenue cases pertaining to the district. He/she is also authorised to collect Land Revenue and is therefore also referred collector (revenue) and also to control encroachment of government land in the district.
