HARYANA: A team of Assam Police busted a human trafficking racket in Haryana and arrested nine people including a woman connected to the racket.

The team of human traffickers kidnapped and also lured girls in Assam by promising them jobs in other states and selling them in exchange for money.

The nine arrested persons have been identified as Aleka Begum, Akher Ali, Ashraful Alom, Saddam Hussain, Jainur Ali, Azad Hussain, Delbar Hussain, Nur Mohammad, and Anuwar Hussain.

The accused were arrested by a team of Assam Police of the Barpeta division from Haryana after launching search operations to find the human traffickers in the state with the help of local Haryana Police who had intel of the traffickers hiding in the underbellies of the state.

According to the police, the accused persons used to build relationships with the girls so that they can manipulate the girls emotionally to go with them to other states and then sell them to larger human trafficking rackets that are rampant in states like Haryana and Rajasthan.

There are reports that the gang sold girls of all age groups and in exchange received around 3 lakhs for each girl delivered.

For launching operations in another state, they have to take the help of the local police who have a better understanding of the areas of their own state.
