TRS Worker Allegedly Tries to Slit Woman's Throat in Hyderabad, Arrested

HYDERABAD: In a gut-wrenching incident, a Telangana Rashtra Samiti(TRS) worker allegedly tried to slit open a woman's throat in Hyderabad in the wee hours of Monday.

In a video that is soon becoming viral, a woman can be seen writhing in pain and asking for help.

The attacker is identified as Vijay Sinha Reddy who is the personal assistant of Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath.

The incident took place in the Panjagutta area of Hyderabad in the early hours of Monday.

The husband of the victim said in a statement, "She called me two-three times at the hospital where the cops were also present. She stated that the attacker was Vijay Sinha, Jubilee Hills MLA's PA".

He also claims in the statement that both his wife and the attacker used to talk for hours on the phone and also used to do nude video calls.

The attacker, on the other hand, said in a statement that the woman used to text him on Facebook and they used to chat normally, and then she started video calling him with suggestive nudity, and when he ignored such advances she created this whole drama of being attacked.

"I am Borabanda division TRS party coordinator. For the past six years, I worked as a PA for former deputy mayor and current Borabanda division corporator Baba Fasiuddin. After coming to know about his illegal activities of extortion and acts of conspiracy, I left him and worked hard for the party's development" Sinha added in his statement.

Trying to prove his innocence Sinha also said, "Baba Fasiuddin hatched a conspiracy and paid Rs 3 lakh to them (the woman and her husband) to file a case against me. Yesterday, a report was circulating that I attempted to murder the woman at night around 1 am. I have evidence as to where I was at that point in time. Police are investigating and all the facts will come to light"
