Arunachal Pradesh logs 21 new Covid-19 cases: Senior Health Official

Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday reported 21 fresh Covid-19 cases, 19 more than the previous day, pushing the virus caseload in the northeastern state to 66,571, a senior health official said.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday reported 21 fresh Covid-19 cases, 19 more than the previous day, pushing the virus caseload in the northeastern state to 66,571, a senior health official said. The toll remained unchanged at 296 as no new fatality due to the infection was recorded in the last 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Among the new cases, four were reported from the Capital Complex Region comprising – Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, the official said. Three fresh cases each were also detected from West Kameng, Upper Siang and Namsai districts, two each from East Siang and Changlang and one each from Anjaw, Papumpare, Dibang Valley and Leparada district respectively, Jampa said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 121 active cases, while 66,154 people recuperated from the disease thus far including, 26 on Monday, the SSO said. The recovery rate in the state increased to 99.37 per cent while the active ratio stood at 0.18 per cent, the official said. Over 18.40 lakh people have been inoculated with Covid-19 vaccines, State Immunization Officer Dr Dimong Padung said.
