Six drug peddlers were arrested in two NDPS Cases registered in East Siang district

PASIGHAT: Six drug peddlers were arrested in two NDPS Cases registered in East Siang district on Friday, informed SP Sumit Kumar Jha.
In a daylong operation including raids at multiple locations carried by SI Aditya Chandra (SI), Kari Pertin (SI), Ct. Kaling Perme, Ct. Mai Padung and Ct(D) Oterson Modi under the supervision of OC Pasighat Out Gao, a large quantity of contraband suspected to be Brown Sugar was seized.
Other incriminating evidence was also suggestive of the fact that those arrested were involved in peddling activities. Executive Magistrate Dr M Kakki was present on the spot with the police team.
Pasighat PS Case No 61/22 was registered under section 21(b) NDPS Act (4 arrested Seizure 20.57 gm) and Sille Oyan PS Case No 5/22 was registered under section 21(a) NDPS Act (2 Arrested Seizure 2.2 gm). We could go three levels up in the supply chain in today's investigation, added SP Jha.
Specific actionable inputs were provided continuously over the last few days by WASE mothers and other sources regarding illegal activities related to drugs.
The SP appreciated the officers and personnel from the 5th IRBn, Insp Bedum Borang, Abhay Yadav (SI) and Mingki (HC) for their active support.
Meanwhile, the SP further said that information was received on Friday afternoon that there was an organized gambling activity going on for a few days in a house near Power House in High Region Area, Pasighat.
Accordingly, the place was raided and many persons were found playing cards with poker chips and cash. Eight persons including five women and three men were apprehended on the spot.
Rs 50,280 in cash, multiple decks of playing cards and poker chips have been seized. Pasighat PS Case No 60/22 has been registered under the relevant sections of law and all of them have been arrested. One Lady named Miti Latin was arrested for the second time for illegal gambling.
OC (WPS) Inspector N K Khen led the raid with L/HC Y Tatin, Ct. Sekek Pertin, Ct. Tanlong Shungkho and L/Ct. T. Rome.
