GUWAHATI: A four wheeler crashed head-on with a dumper on NH 37 in Saringia, in the Jorhat district of Assam, resulting in one person's death and three others suffering critical injuries. The injured victims were immediately shifted to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH).

"Eyewitnesses told us that the car travelling from the direction of Jorhat hit a sand-carrying dumper here head-on, killing one person on the spot," the police mentioned.

‘’The dump truck was driving on the wrong side of the street. When the collision occurred, both cars were moving quickly. The victims are natives of Golaghat. They are now registered patients at the JMCH. Their identification has not yet been established" a police official added.

More details are awaited regarding this accident.

Recently, a severe automobile collision associated with Holi made headlines. The disaster occurred in Guwahati, the state capital of Assam, as a result of a head-on collision between two vehicles.

According to the initial reports, the tragedy took place on the Ganeshguri flyover. Witnesses claimed to have seen a Toyota Fortuner collide head-on with a Hyundai i10 on the flyover.

It is not obvious how the two vehicles managed to collide head-on given that the flyover has clearly defined barriers. It's possible that one of the automobiles was driving on the wrong side of the street. Unknown at the time of the crash were the numbers of passengers in each of the two vehicles.

A traffic police team rushed towards the scene to handle the situation and take the necessary steps. The driver of the car that came into the intersection from the wrong side of the street is thought to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Just a day prior to this episode, the mood of Holi was dimmed by another automobile accident that occurred in Chandmari of Guwahati.
