Assam: Six Minors Allegedly Sexually Assaulted by Principal in Biswanath
The accused identified as Pradeep Sangma sexually assaulted six minor girls aged 7 and below in the hostel premises of his school
BISWANATH: A principal of a private school in Assam's Biswanath District went into hiding after allegedly sexually assaulting six minor girls at his school.
The incident came to light on Friday after the girls complained to their parents, however, the principal fled from the town the very next day.
The accused identified as Pradeep Sangma allegedly assaulted six minor girls who were aged 7 and below on the hostel premises within the school campus.
Notably, the culprit Pradeep Sangma hailing from Assam's Karbi Anglong district had been teaching in the school for three years.
Meanwhile, The Officer-in-charge of Balisang Police Station reached the school and ordered a thorough probe into the matter.
A few days back Excise Superintendent named Pritam Baruah was arrested by Dhemaji Police on charges of raping a minor. Dhemaji Police later handed him over to the Crime Branch, Guwahati for further investigation into the matter.
Baruah who is a resident of Rupnagar in Guwahati. The Crime Branch has registered a case against him 8/2022 u/s 354 (A)/354 (A) (I) (II) R/W Section 10 of the POCSO Act. It has been alleged that Baruah is an acquaintance of the victim's family and taking advantage of his friendly ties with the family, he raped the 10-year-old girl.
In another such case, a 60-year-old man was apprehended for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and raping of a 14-year-old girl for nearly three months in Assam's Cachar district. The accused was identified as Joynarayan Goreri, a resident of Magurasora village in the Karimganj district.
As per reports Joynarayan kidnapped the girl by making her sniff some substance and reportedly kidnapped her and unleashed his monstrosity on the teenager.
The family of the victim registered a missing case following which the police sprung into action and were successful in rescuing the girl from Goreri's house in Chotomanda village in the Cachar district.
