GUWAHATI: In a great development, Assam's Dibrugarh University has been named one of eight institutes across the country to receive the British Council's Going Global Partnerships Grant (partnership grant).

Dibrugarh University and Queen's University, Belfast, are collaborating. The money will be used to establish a worldwide interdisciplinary program on comprehensive strategy and technology via cooperation, according to the British Council. The grant's main goal is to increase opportunities for learners in India and the United Kingdom to participate in overseas educational experiences.

Dibrugarh University, India's eastern border university, was founded in 1965 as a result of the Assam Legislative Assembly's passage of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965. It is a major academic and innovation-driven institution that serves as a geographical slot for shaping North East India's socio-cultural dynamism. The University supports a wide range of endeavours that rely on a combination of thinking, theorising, and reflecting.

IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Transnational Health Science and Technology Institute, and Indian Institute of Science are among several institutes to receive the collaborative grant. The British Council provides cooperation funds to current partners in order to broaden the scope of their work to also include collaborative and cooperative teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The main goal is to create an education and interaction model, as well as a program or module that corresponds to bachelor's or master's degrees in the United Kingdom and India. The collaborating partners would be able to obtain consultation services from UK service providers such as ENIC, QAA, and others as part of the initiative.

They will also be allowed to set aside a portion of the money to provide TNE scholarships or grants to students so that they may have a taste of UK education.
