KOKRAJHAR: The District Consultative Committee (DCC) or District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of Chirang district for the quarter March, 2022 was held on Thursday in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office at Kajalgaon.

The meeting was presided over by Narendra Kumar Shah, Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Project Director of Panchayat and Rural Development, Lead District Manager, Branch Managers of different Bank branches and heads of departments of Chirang district.

The house discussed various issues related to achievement of annual credit plan, schematic progress on various government sponsored schemes like Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) loan, Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Employment (SVAYEM) MUDRA loan, MLUM, NRLM, PM Svanidi, KCC for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, etc. for the financial year 2021-2022. Discussion on financial literacy, financial inclusion, etc were also made during the meeting. After a detailed discussion on the above mentioned subjects, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officials to take a more active role in achieving their targets. He also expressed his concern over low CD Ratio of some of the Banks like Punjab National Bank (20.886), UCO Bank (29.56%), AXIS Bank (34.889%), Indian Bank (34.26%), etc. and poor performance by the banks in disbursing loans in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Fishery, Handloom and Weaving, etc. Being a district having huge potential in these above-mentioned sectors, the Deputy Commissioner Shah asked the participating banks to improve their performance in their areas.
