KOKRAJHAR: The Chirang district administration is all set to implement the Mission Samadhan, which was launched in the district in February last year to provide caste certificates to those people who have been facing difficulties getting that certificate for many years.

Addressing the media, Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, Narendra Kumar Shah said that they would start giving caste certificates to genuine beneficiaries from Tuesday as they had already received some applications for the same from the people. He said due to lack of certificates of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC), many people in Chirang district have been deprived of government public welfare schemes.

"Therefore, the Chirang district administration has adopted this scheme called Mission Samadhan to issue caste certificates to people of the district," he added. Caste certificates will be provided to all genuine applicants of 62 VCDCs in the district by holding Gram Sabha.

Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah said that the VCDC president, local people, educators, social workers, leaders of organizations, etc. would hold Gaon Sabhas at 10 places in the district tomorrow. A total of 1,650 people have applied for caste certificates in the district.
