Police in Bajali seized Illegally transported PDS rice
The vehicle was found stacked with 480 sacks of suspected PDS rice and the vehicle was coming from Barpeta and moving towards Meghalaya.

PATHSALA: Police in Bajali arrested a person for illegally transporting 480 sacks of suspected government PDS rice from a vehicle. The accused have been identified as Subur Uddin Ali, son of Sibur Ali of Kahibari under the Barpeta district.
According to police, they recovered a vehicle bearing registration number AS-01-DD 7573. The vehicle was found stacked with 480 sacks of suspected PDS rice and the vehicle was coming from Barpeta and moving towards Meghalaya.
"During interrogation of the driver, it came to light that the rice that was loaded in the truck was PDS rice which was illegally procured from dubious sources, other than government-approved agencies, with an intention of stealing," police source said.
Meanwhile, in this regard, a case has been registered in Patacharkuchi PS Case No. 380/2022 U/S 379/420 IPC R/W section 7 of EC Act.
