Petroleum Sports Promotion Board meets begins in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Inter-Unit tournament 2022-23 of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) got under way at the Maligaon Railway Stadium in the city today. The competition was inaugurated by Rameswar Teli, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, etc. Queen Oja, Member of Parliament, also graced the occasion.

It will be the first occasion when the five events will be held in a single city and in one competition. ONGC will host Badminton and BPCL will organize Volleyball. On the other hand, MNGL, OIL and NRL will organize basketball, carrom and football respectively. While football and badminton will be held at the RG Baruah Sports complex, NF Railway stadium will host basketball and volleyball. carrom will be held at Oil campus, Narengi.

Many national and international players were present in today's inaugural ceremony which included Lakshay Sen (Badminton), HS Prannoy (Badminton), Satwiksairaj Rankireddy (Badminton), B Sai Praneet (Badminton), Saurav Verma (Badminton), Ashwini Ponappa (Badminton), P Kashyap (Badminton), Sikki Reddy (Badminton), Sameer Verma (Badminton), Kajal Kumari (Carrom), K Srinivas (Carrom), Rashmi Kumari (Carrom), Athin GS (Volleyball), Jayrom Vinit (Volleyball), Vishesh Bhriguvanshi (Basketball), Atanu Das (Archery), Jyothi Surekha (Archery) and Shiva Thapa (Boxing) attended the ceremony.
