Assam Rifles interacts with Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP)

AIZAWL: The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), assisted the MZP Lunglei in the upgradation and betterment of the NGO. Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), an NGO and apex student body in Lunglei, Mizoram requested the assistance of 3 Assam Rifles for the upgradation of the office complex for the smooth functioning of their NGO. On 27 May 2022, Colonel Bejoy R, Sena Medal, Commandant of 3 Assam Rifles keeping up with the tradition of "SENTINELS OF THE NORTHEAST" Interacted with the president of MZP, Lunglei and provided the needful guidance and assistance to the NGO for its upgradation and better functioning. For the effective functioning and assisting the members of the NGO, various items were donated to the MZP, Lunglei by the Commandant 3 Assam Rifles. Commandant 3 Assam Rifles also interacted with the President MZP, members of MZP and many local students present at the function and provided the necessary guidance to the youth about the various employment opportunities, government schemes, healthcare facilities provided by the government and especially by the security forces for the welfare of the people of Mizoram. The interaction also aimed at spreading awareness amongst the students about the role Assam Rifles is playing in the complete North-Eastern region of the country for the overall uplift and development of the society by assisting NGOs like MZP. The noble gesture on part of Assam Rifles and the sincere concern were well appreciated by the president, MZP and locals of the Lunglei district. The initiative by the 3 Assam Rifles will go a long way in further consolidating the harmonious relations prevailing between the locals and Assam Rifles, a press release said.
