Interaction with IIS Group A officer trainees
The interaction aimed to brief the trainees about operational preparedness to counter cross-border smuggling of weapons and narcotics.
Aizawl: Brigadier Digvijay Singh, DIG 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), interacted with IIS Group A officer trainees at Headquarters 23 Sector, Assam Rifles, Aizawl on May 25. A total of seven trainees who are on a 'Northeast Familiarization tour', were briefed by the DIG 23 Sector, Assam Rifles.
The interaction aimed to brief the trainees about operational preparedness to counter cross-border smuggling of weapons and narcotics and the management of the illegal influx of Myanmar nationals. Perception management activities being carried out by Assam Rifles and the role of national/local media in image building and creating awareness in Mizoram were also briefed to them.
The IIS trainees will also be interacting with troops of Assam Rifles operating at the Indo-Myanmar Border (IMB) during their visit to forwarding areas Champhai and Zokhawthar, stated a press release.
