Lectures conducted by Assam Rifles in Mizoram
The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a lecture on 'World Athletics Day'
AIZAWL: The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a lecture on 'World Athletics Day' at Tuipang town of the Saiha district on Saturday.
World Athletics Day is celebrated every year globally on May 7. The aim of lecture was to raise awareness about the importance of fitness and encourage youth to take up sports, especially athletics. The various events covered in athletics, training procedures and selection procedures were explained in detail. Names of various organizations in the country which help train athletes were given to participants.
A total of 23 local residents attended the lecture. The residents of Tuipang Town were very happy and expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by Assam Rifles, stated a press release.
