KOHIMA: The Nagaland Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, was depicted realistically in acrylic paint on a peepal leaf by the Assam-based artist on November 14.

Making a picture on paper is a challenge in itself, but artist Bishal Deka went above and beyond by accurately painting his muses on peepal leaves.

Art is an aspect of magic. Once someone realizes that, they can comprehend how it occasionally can be so ceremonial, divine, and magical. Art is not always a "celebration of creativity." Some art also serves as a positive impact on the eyes of viewers. And with his unwavering commitment to his work, Bishal Deka amply demonstrated this.

Along, the Nagaland Minister retweeted the images the following day after Bishal posted the videos and pictures of his own artwork. He penned these words while posting images of his leaf portrait: "Ayalee! This is so Sweet! Thank you @BishalDekaArt for this beautiful and captivating piece of art! Guys you will be surprised to know that this painting has been created on a leaf of Peepal! उनके सर्जनशीलता को दाद देना पड़ेगा ". The last line roughly translates to, "The artist's creativity has to be commended".

Later, Along also published a video in which Deka describes the process of creating the portrait. I shall be using it as my DP as a sign of love and respect, the minister wrote.

Through his post of praise for Assam-based artist Bishal Deka, Along has delivered a significant message to the community that will encourage many more people to value art and support emerging artists who labour arduously to create original works of art.

Supporting the arts in India is a way to help the centuries-old cultural practices that make up our complex past and the cutting-edge artistic trends that will shape our future. Any community's growth and expression can be powerfully facilitated by involvement in and production of art. The Indian government also provides a number of grants, scholarships, and programs to aid in the cause of encouraging art and culture in a varied nation like ours.
