Assam per capita income up by 7.03% in fiscal 2021-22

GUWAHATI: The per capita income of Assam has registered a 7.03 percent increase in fiscal 2021-22.

Statistics of the state Finance Department have revealed this increase. According to statistics, the per capita income of Assam increased to Rs 67,661 in the financial year 2021-22 from Rs 63,214 in the financial year 2020-21. These statistics are according to quick estimates at constant prices (2011-12).

According to quick estimates, the per capita income at the national level at constant prices is Rs 93,973 in fiscal 2021-22.

The statistics also revealed that the per capita income of Assam at current prices is higher than that of constant prices. As per quick estimates, the per capita income of Assam in fiscal 2021-22 at current prices is Rs 1,05,454.

The statistics also clearly reflect the gradual increase in the per capita income of the state since fiscal 2011-12. It was Rs 41,142 in 2011-12; Rs 41,609 in 2012-13; Rs 43,002 in 2013-14; Rs 44,809 in 2014-15; Rs 50,642 in 2015-16; Rs 53,575 in 20116-17; Rs 57,835 in 2017-18; Rs 59,943 in fiscal 2018-19; Rs 64,755 in 2019-20; Rs 63,214 in 2020-21 and Rs 67,661 in 2021-22. All these figures are at constant prices.

Per capita income is the average income earned per person in a given area in a specified year.
