Mairabari, Batadroba, next?

Attack on a police station or burning of a police outpost has alarmingly become a routine affair in Assam. The video clippings which have emerged from the recent Batadroba Police Station episode clearly prove that the attack was very well-planned by people of doubtful nationality and integrity with bad police records. The allegations made by the locals in regards to the custodial death of one youth, as vividly reported by a section of the print and electronic media without any proper verification, are extremely condemnable. A section of media house some time may try to compare the lady who burned the police station with our great Kanaklata who did so for the nation's independence from the British. One wonders why our police force, which was recently decorated with the President's Colour award, did not retaliate. It was a very sorry sight to see one of our policemen being brutally assaulted by the organized mob. The weapons of the police station stored in the armoury were burnt to ashes along with some very important documents. The ongoing attacks in the linguistic minority dominated areas may be planned by the Jihadis who have strong base in the Nagaon, Barpeta, Goalpara, Dhubri etc. Memory is still fresh when an on-duty doctor was brutally attacked by people from the linguistic minority after the death of a terminally-ill patient in the hospital.

The diabolical role played by the local MLA belonging to the Congress should be enough for the indigenous populace to banish Bhupen Borah and company from Assam once and for all. Else a film titled 'Assam Filea' is in the offing. The above incident ought to be seen as a rumbling of distant thunder.

Enough is enough

We understand that there is an international body named Organization of Islamic Cooperation, briefly known as OIC, a very cash-rich body and historically it is found that the organization looks after the interests of the Islamic nations of the world. So far as we know, India is not an Islamic nation, rather a Democratic Secular Republic where all have the right to follow one's religion without any curb. But very alarmingly, due to pressure from so-called secular parties like AIMIM, SP, BSP, TMC, CPI, CPM and INC, in no time India may be yet become another Islamic nation like our neighbour Pakistan. If anyone goes by history, he/she will find the Hindus are always at the receiving end since time immemorial. The Hindus have never declared Jihad against any religion. The recent belligerent attitude displayed by the above-mentioned so-called secular parties in regards to the archaeological findings at the Gyanvapi mosque is no doubt a pointer in this direction. AIMIM's leaders like Asaduddin Owaisi, Waris Pathan are modern-day Jinnahs in the Secular Democratic Republic of India.

As a follower of Hinduism, I shall be the happiest patriotic bona fide Indian if I am branded as communal, as one ought to be communal if the need arises.

Something to

crow about!

Birds of a certain kind occupy all portions of the earth inhabited by mankind. This shows that man is never without his bird associates. Although there are more than 10,000 bird species worldwide, only a handful of them are extremely talented and incredibly intelligent. And, when it comes to smartness, crows should probably be at the top of the list. Crows are actually a very friendly type of birds. Known for their intelligence and adaptability, they are distinguished by their throaty and raucous sound "caw." The largely common black crows imitate sounds quite professionally. In fact, they usually communicate with different sounds which vary according to situations. Crows are extremely shrewd with a powerful memory to the extent that they can even recognize individual human faces. Said Henry Ward Beecher, the renowned American social reformer and speaker: "If men had wings and bore black feathers, few of them would be clever enough to be crows."
