Assam: Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee resigns from Congress
Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee resigned from the Indian National Congress (INC) on Saturday.

GUWAHATI: Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee resigned from the Indian National Congress (INC) on Saturday. He was the general secretary of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). He informed the media of his resignation from all the portfolios of APCC and his primary membership in INC.
Recently, the AICC constituted its election committee of 20 members, but Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee was not included, and he was miffed at for not being included in the APCC election committee.
Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee wrote on his X handle, “…after watching the list, I have decided to stopped my activities as I am not qualified to be a member. Ready to pack my luggage.”
He also told the media that his resignation would not affect Congress. He earlier quit Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), and then joined Congress in July 31, 2013. But now, it is indicated that he might again join the AGP.
