A 52-year-old man was killed when a mixer truck hit a motorcycle near Khanamukh at NH 17 on Tuesday.

GUWAHATI: A 52-year-old man was killed when a mixer truck hit a motorcycle near Khanamukh at NH 17 on Tuesday.
According to sources, the accident occurred when the mixer truck and the motorcycle were heading towards Azara, coming from Jalukbari. The mixer truck bearing registration OD-05-BC-3466 hit the motorcyle bearing registration AS-14K-8948, and as a result, the rider fell down near Khanamukh. The rider, identified as Suren Barman (52) of Nalbari, sustained grievous injuries. He was admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), but the doctors informed that he was brought dead.
The mixer truck's driver, Abul Hussain of Cachar district, was arrested. Both vehicles were brought to the Jalukbari Outpost (Tr) branch.
