GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma achieved a notable feat for the state's film industry by launching 'Aideo' cinema hall at Jonaki Complex on the joyous occasion of Magh Bihu in the state. This unveiling ceremony is part of the golden jubilee year projects initiated by Assam State Film Corporation.
The Assam State Film Corporation has launched the 'Aideo' cinema hall in Guwahati's Panjabari locality, which is strategically situated at Jonaki Complex. This project intends to revive the state's movie sector and encourage its expansion within the industry.
During the inauguration festivities, 'Anunaad-The Resonance,' a highly praised and National Award recipient film was screened at the cinema hall. This event attracted significant members from Assamese film industry highlighting its significance as an initiative.
To commemorate its 50th anniversary, the Assam State Film Corporation is embarking on an ambitious project to build five new theaters and upgrade nine existing ones. This initiative aims to improve infrastructure and create a better cinema experience for movie enthusiasts throughout the state.
In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma outlined his aspirations for Assam's film sector.
