Investigation underway on recovery of 2 infants’ bodies in Guwahati
A case was registered at the Bharalumukh Police Station regarding the recovery of the two bodies of babies on the bank of the Brahmaputra River.

GUWAHATI: A case was registered at the Bharalumukh Police Station regarding the recovery of the two bodies of babies on the bank of the Brahmaputra River. They have also initiated an inquiry into the matter and are looking for leads in multiple directions.
Bharalumukh Police have started enquiring of the nearby hospitals regarding any recent mortality of infants or any similar development and to get the details of parents in any such case. Looking for clues in any other direction, they have started collecting footage from the CCTV cameras in the nearby areas, which can provide clues regarding the development. They are looking for signs of anyone carrying a similar box, like the one with the dead infants in it.
It was mentioned that the incident came to light after the water washed away the sand that covered the bodies that were found inside the pit. Two premature babies were found at Lachit Ghat on Thursday, sending shockwaves in Guwahati. One of them was a male, and the other was a female.
According to sources, the age of the two premature babies is assumed to be around five to six months.
