GUWAHATI: In a tweet, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ridiculed the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' and referred to it as one of the biggest comedies of this century.

He also said that our Country doesn't need a 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' because we live in a united India in present times and that India was divided only once in 1947 when a new country Pakistan was born and that it was his party Congress which allowed this partition to happen.

He also advised Rahul Gandhi that he should instead travel to Pakistan and do this yatra there so that we can get an India that was undivided before The British rule.

'Bharat Jodo Yatra' is one of the most ambitious marches that Congress has taken out recently. This yatra will be started from Kanyakumari and will end in Jammu and Kashmir. The Yatra was kicked off today from Kanyakumari and will pass through 12 Indian states and 2 union territories.

According to sources, the whole itinerary of the yatra is for 150 days which will end by February next year.

Rahul Gandhi will be accompanied by more than 100 congress workers in this 3750 km-long Walkathon.

Notably, APCC President(Assam Unit) Bhupen Borah in a statement a few days ago said that there will be full cooperation from Assam's side in the yatra.

Apart from the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', the Congress's Delhi rally which is christened as the "Halla Bol Dilli Chalo' campaign against Price rise and other such matters has helped the struggling Congress gain some momentum.
