ITANAGAR: The Covid-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 66,550 on Monday after two more people tested positive for the infection, 15 less than the previous day, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said here.

The State reported 17 positive cases and 21 recoveries on Sunday. The two fresh cases were detected in the Tawang and Leparada districts, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 126 active cases, while 66,128 people recuperated from the disease thus far, including five on Sunday, the SSO said.

The Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 35, followed by Lower Subansiri at 11, West Kameng and Changlang at ten cases each and Kamle district at nine active cases. Altogether 12,88,474 samples have been tested for the Coronavirus infection in the State thus far, including 45 on Sunday, Jampa said. Over 18.40 lakh people have been inoculated with Covid-19 vaccines, State Immunization Officer Dr Dimong Padung said.
