TEZU: The Lohit police has apprehended three persons and recovered suspected contraband substances weighing 25 gram and a cash amount of Rs 10,650 from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, the Lohit Police Anti-Drug Squad led by deputy inspector Maga Tago Gohain Gaon laid a trap at Gohain Gaon and intercepted the car in which the three suspected drug peddlers from Mahadevpur were traveling to Tezu to sell the contraband.
The accused have been identified as 28-year-old Alimo Keche, 19-year-old Anodi Keche and 37-year-old Ram Das.
Meanwhile, the police has registered the case under section 21 (B) of NDPS Act against the trio, while further investigation is underway.
