NAGAON: ‘Amulya Manna Photography Award 2024’ will be presented to noted cinematographer of the State Suman Duwara. The Amulya Manna Memorial Trust in association with Photography Institute of Assam will present the award at a function on January 19.

The award contains an appraisal letter, memento and a cash of Rs 20,000. The trust has been presenting this prestigious award every year to a noted person being involved in the field of photography as well as cinematographer since 2021. Earlier, the award was presented to noted photographer and cinematographer Nalini Kanta Baruah, Samir Chowdhury and Mahendra Baruah respectively by the trust.

Duwara started his career in 1997 as a cinematographer for Bengali film ‘Hathat Bristi’ directed by noted film director Basu Chatterjee. Duwara has worked till date as a cinematographer in more than 39 films. He worked with noted Assamese filmmaker and director like Munin Baruah, Jahnu Baruah, Bidyut Chakraborty, Jadumoni Dutta and Manjul Baruah. Besides, he was associated with more than 150 documentaries, 70 video films and over 25 TV serials.
