BISWANATH: A very sad incident took place in the Biswanath region of the state on Wednesday. A worker lost his life after an electrical short circuit while working at a residence.

The incident took place in the Falfali region of Biswanath. A worker was engaged in the construction of a house at the residence of Bharak Ram in the Ram Chowk locality of the region. He was among a number of workers engaged in the construction work.

While three of the workers were engaged in giving electrical connections for the work, one of them suddenly came in contact with a live electrical connection. This worker fainted on the spot because of this incident. When another worker tried to help this worker and touched him, he also came in contact with the electrical connection. The third worker was however able to disconnect the connection and thus break the circuit.

The workers immediately shifted the fainted worker to the nearby civil hospital, but the doctors on duty pronounced him dead on arrival. The victim was identified as Debojit Kacher hailing from the Kamalpur locality of Pabhoi. The district magistrate took stock of the situation and sent the body for the necessary post-mortem procedures.

Debojit Kacher has been mentioned as belonging to a very poor family and he was working towards supporting his family including his father who was ill.
