Assam: Student Leader Dies In Road Accident
Another person was also injured in the incident and he is currently being treated at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, a young student leader lost his life in a road accident in Assam's Morigaon district.
The leader was identified as Sangking Madar, a resident of the Markuchi area of Jagiroad and was the regional president of the Jagiroad Tiwa students' Union.
According to reports, Madar was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit him from behind.
Another person was also injured in the incident and he is currently being treated at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Last week at least seven people were killed and several others injured in two separate road accidents in Assam.
As per police, at least five people were crushed to death and three others were injured after a speeding truck hit them in Darrang district, while two people were killed and several others were injured at Hatibondha in Kaliabor in Nagaon district.
Police said that the Darrang accident took place at the Sipajhar College Chowk area on National Highway-15 while the victims were out on a morning walk.
