Aizawl: Aizawl and Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a lecture on "World Hepatitis Day" a tKwalbem, Hnahlan and Lungpuk village on 28 Jul 2022. A total of 80 locals attended the lecture.

World Hepatitis Day is observed annually on July 28. The lecture aimed to spread awareness about the spread of hepatitis disease. During the lecture, people were made aware that hepatitis is a silent epidemic because most people do not show symptoms. They can further unknowingly spread the virus to others and continue the silent spread of hepatitis disease.

The Hepatitis virus targets the liver of the patient. In the end, people were made aware of how they can protect themselves from this disease using methods like vaccines for hepatitis & practising good personal hygiene. The locals of Kwalbem, Hnahlan and Lungpuk villages were very happy and expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by Assam Rifles, a press release said.
