GANGTOK: In a recent announcement, the office of the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, shared details about his upcoming one-day teaching session scheduled for December 12 in Gangtok, Sikkim. The revered spiritual figure will delve into Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo's 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva, a profound text reflecting the path to enlightenment.

Initially planned for October, the Dalai Lama's visit to Sikkim had faced a delay due to a bout of flu. However, the rescheduled event comes at the request of the Sikkim state government and is set to take place at the Paljor Stadium in Gangtok. This teaching session marks a significant opportunity for spiritual seekers to gain insights into the principles of compassion and altruism.

Following the teaching in Gangtok, His Holiness will journey to Salugara in West Bengal on December 14. Later, he is slated to visit Bodhgaya, where he will provide three days of teachings starting December 29 at the Kalachakra Teaching Ground. The spiritual leader will also participate in a long-life offering ceremony on January 1, 2024.

The Dalai Lama is known for his teachings and public talks held throughout the year at various locations. Notably, in India, these events are typically open to the public without charge. However, for international events, attendees often need to purchase tickets, with proceeds contributing to venue costs and related expenses.

His teachings, particularly those at the main Tibetan temple in Dharamsala, are officially translated into multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Hindi, and Japanese, facilitating a global audience to benefit from his wisdom. These translations are broadcast on FM channels, making the teachings accessible to a diverse linguistic audience.
