Pradip Borah Memorial Inter-School Badminton, Chess Tournament concludes

BISWANATH CHARIALI: The Pradip Borah Memorial Biswanath District Inter-School Badminton and Chess Tournament, organized by the Biswanath District Sports Association in a three-day long programme, concluded successfully last night. The concluding ceremony of the competition was inaugurated by Mitali Saikia Borah, spouse of late Pradeep Borah while the welcome address was delivered by Ratul Saikia, General Secretary of the Association. The competitions were held at Biswanath Chariali Officers' Club, Udipta Chora of Bedeti and Ranjit and Satyabrata Sharma Memorial Indoor Stadium at Barangabari, respectively, from October 29.

The prizes were presented to the winners in line with the competition. Earlier, seven veteran badminton players and two armwrestlers from the district were felicitated on the occasion. The event was held in the presence of Biswanath MLA and President of Biswanath District Sports Association Pramod Borthakur and a large number of dignitaries. The programme was conducted by Dr Pulak Sabhapandit, Associate Professor, Biswanath College and Bhairav Borah, Chief Badminton Coach. It was also attended by veteran badminton players Pintu Oza, Rajiv Borah, Bhupen Borah, Jagat Sanchetti, Fuljit Saha and Ajoy Sarkar.
