Rik Kumar Rout of Assam caused two major upsets in the boy’s singles U-12 and 14 years in the AITA Ranking Tennis Tournament here on Wednesday.
GUWAHATI: Rik Kumar Rout of Assam caused two major upsets in the boy’s singles U-12 and 14 years in the AITA Ranking Tennis Tournament here on Wednesday. In the boys U-12 singles quarter finals he defeated top seed Enrich Patar of Assam in straight sets 6-3, 6-0. On the other hand in the U-14 singles quarter final Rik outclassed 2nd seeded Aaditya Sinha of Meghalaya 6-4, 6-0. There was another upset in the competition today as unseeded Kshitiz Baheti of Assam in boys U-14 category defeated 4th seeded Ayyan Rehman, also from Assam, in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. All the doubles finals will be held on Thursday.
