Assam Government elevated two IAS officers to CS grade

Sanjay Lohiya and Samir Kumar Sinha have been named for the promotions by the government.

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government elevated two IAS officers to the grade of chief secretary (apex scale). Following approval from the Central Government, the Personnel Department of the State Government issued an official notification to this effect.

According to the notification, Sanjay Lohiya, now on Central Deputation, is allowed pro forma promotion in Level 17 of the Pay Matrix (Chief Secretary Grade) with effect from January 1, 2024.

Samir Kumar Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department, and Additional Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, is promoted and allowed to officiate in the Apex Scale, Level 17 of the Pay Matrix (Chief Secretary Grade), with effect from January 1, 2024.

On his promotion, Samir Kumar Sinha is allowed to continue as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department, and Additional Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi.
