Drugs Worth Rs 20 Crore Seized In Gossaigaon
Assam police on Friday seized drugs worth Rs 20 crore in Gossaigaon in BTR’s Kokrajhar district on Friday.
Around 85 kilograms of Opium and 3 kilograms of Heroin were seized from a truck that was intercepted based on inputs.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck, identified as Mohanlal, has been taken into custody.

Interstate Drug Network Busted, 0.5 kg Heroin & 1.5 Lakh Yaba Tablets Seized
In an operation led by JCP Partha Mahanta and DSP Kalyan Pathak, another interstate drug network has been busted. Two accused from other states have been apprenhended at Cachar border.

Assam CM Appreciates Guwahati Police For Busting Drug Rackets In The City
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday appreciated the efforts of Guwahati police as the later recovered 2 kgs of heroin from a truck.
The Guwahati police also arrested one person in this regard.
Taking to the micro-blogging site twitter, Sarma said, ''A @GuwahatiPol special squad led by Jt CP Sri Partha Sarathi Mahanta recovered 2 kgs Heroin from a truck and arrested 2 persons.
Our fight against drugs and those dealing in it shall continue unabated. Well done @assampolice''.
On Saturday too, the Guwahati police had conducted raids at different places and nabbed the culprits along with recovering drugs.
As per the information shared on its official twitter account by the Guwahati police, revealed that the later raided at three different places, including the Lalmati area of Guwahati on Saturday and seized a total of 13 gms of Heroin.
The raid was conducted by the West Guwahati Police Department (WGPD) team from Gorchuk police station.
“In the 3rd bust of the day a WGPD team from Gorchuk PS arrested one Suman Das of Lalmati and recovered 13 gms of Heroin from his possession. We will not rest till we eradicate this menace,” the Guwahati police tweeted.
Meanwhile, on the same day a CGPD team from Geetanagar police station arrested a person named Dhrubajyoti Bhuyan of Narikol Basti and seized 5 vials of Heroin and a mobile phone at Zoo Narengi Tiniali.
Taking to micro-bogging site, the police tweeted,''In another bust today, a CGPD team from Geetanagar PS arrested one Dhrubajyoti Bhuyan of Narikol Basti and seized 5 vials of Heroin and a mobile phone at Zoo Narengi Tiniali. Legal action has been initiated”.
In the third raid carried out by the West Guwahati Police Department two people were arrested and later were identified as Retilla Marak of William Nagar village of Meghalaya and Abdul from Barpeta.
As per the information shared by Guwahati police on the twitter, 500 kg of heroin was seized from their possession.

Assam Police Conduct Series of Drug Raids Across Guwahati
Guwahati: As a part of its efforts to curb drug menace in the city, the Assam Police have tightened its belt as the later conducted raids on several places in the Guwahati city.
As per the information shared on its official twitter account by the Guwahati police, revealed that the later raided at three different places, including the Lalmati area of Guwahati on Saturday and seized a total of 13 gms of Heroin.
In this regard, the police also arrested one person.

2 Drug Smugglers Arrested From Bokakhat
In the war against drugs in the state, two more drug smugglers were arrested today from Bokakhat in Assam’s Golaghat district.
The two arrested have been identified as Sahadev Doley and Biplab Bora. They were arrested by the police in an operation after receiving information about them. Eight containers of contraband substances were recovered from them.

Drug Racket Busted in Guwahati, 6 Arrested
The Central Guwahati Police District SOG and a team from Noonmati Police Station along 152 Battalion, G-Coy of Central Reserve Police conducted a series of searches in various areas of the city.
A total of six persons were arrested after recovering 15 stolen smartphones, 6.29 gms of heroin, Rs 38,020 along with two soapboxes, 10 vials, and 40 polythene bags.

Drug trafficker injured in Encounter With Police at Nagaon
A notorious drug peddler received bullet injury after he tried to attack police with a pistol in Nagaon. Nagaon Superintendent of Police Anand Misra said to media that one Sirajul Islam who was apprehended earlier in a case related to drugs trafficking and later granted bail by the court was involved in suspicious activities.
The police nabbed him at Kasuwa and took him to his home located at Padumoni.
The SP told that the police recovered from him 13 grams of drugs valued around Rs. 7 lakh in the international. SP Misra added that he took the police to an under-construction house to show more drugs there and tried to attack them.
“He tried to attack the police with a 0.22 pistol and a policeman fired in one of his legs. Following the direction of the Supreme Court, we did not handcuff him at once. One of our boys fired in Sirajul's leg as he tried to the police with a pistol", the SP added.
The top cop also said that Sirajul has been constructing huge buildings without any known source of income.
